Last month, WWE would hold their second ever all women’s event as WWE Evolution 2 took place. Much like the first event, it featured legends of WWE’s women’s division in attendance, such as Melina Perez.

While speaking to SoCalVal for a new interview with WrestlingNews.Co, Melina spoke about attending WWE Evolution, noting she got to meet new faces at the event.

“It just felt beautiful going up to everybody, reunions everywhere, and then meeting new faces and faces that I’ve seen on TV and never really talked to, I’m surprised I didn’t cry the entire day, but I held it in.”

Later, Melina would discuss the idea of Evolution becoming an annual event, noting that it is the women’s WrestleMania and should be treated as such

“It’s a shame that it’s the second… the first was a long time ago, and now it’s a beautiful thing to finally see Evolution 2. I hope on everything, there needs to be an annual one. This is the women’s WrestleMania. It should be treated as such.”

Melina also praised the current WWE women’s roster, noting how much they contributed to Evolution.

“They contributed to such an amazing show, and it wouldn’t be anything if it wasn’t for them, it’s like they have to understand that it’s not anybody, it’s them. They made this show happen, and I hope they take so much pride in this.”

As of this writing, there has not been an indication on whether or not there will be another WWE Evolution event in the future.

In an exclusive interview with Fightful’s In The Weeks, Mark Wheeler spoke about training with Trish Stratus ahead of WWE Evolution. You can read more about that here.
