Meiko Satomura Becomes First Woman To Be Appointed As A Director Of United Japan Pro-Wrestling
Two new appointees have been made.
United Japan Pro-Wrestling held a meeting on February 17th. At the meeting, the potential appointments of Takashi Sasaki (Pro Wrestling FREEDOMS’ owner) and Meiko Satomura (Sendai Girls’ co-owner) as directors in UJPW were discussed.
After a ‘rigorous’ screening, both Satomura and Sasaki were unanimously approved. Satomura is the first female director of UJPW since it was founded in December 2023.
After the meeting, a social gathering was held with all the representatives from each organization within UJPW. Among those present was NJPW President Hiroshi Tanahashi.
Satomura’s Sendai Girls’ promotion officially joined UJPW in January 2026.
UJPW last ran a show in June 2024. The following promotions are a part of the organization: NJPW, STARDOM, AJPW, Big Japan Pro Wrestling, DDT, Dragongate, Ganbare Pro, Kyushu Pro, NOAH, TJPW, and Sendai Girls’.
