Matt Sydal Returned To The Ring In July 2025 In Dream Match With Ultimo Dragon
Matt Sydal returned to the ring after more than a year away from action in July 2025, and he faced one of the most legendary Cruiserweight performers of all time.
Matt Sydal has had strong runs in AEW, TNA, ROH, PWG, WWE, and more. As of this writing, his last match in AEW took place on May 22, 2024, when he lost to Konosuke Takeshita on AEW Dynamite. He would stay away from wrestling until July 19, 2025, when he lost to former WCW Cruiserweight Champion Ultimo Dragon at an ABC Event in France.

He underwent surgery in June 2024 to fix a foot injury caused by a 2012 motorcycle accident. He is still listed as a member of the AEW roster on their website.
