Matt Lyda Reveals How He Learned WWE Took Over Undertaker’s Podcast

Matt Lyda explains how he learned that The Undertaker’s podcast, Six Feet Under, would be taken over by WWE.

Matt Lyda was the original co-host of The Undertaker’s podcast. Now, WWE has taken over the show through its new partnership with Fanatics. As a result, Six Feet Under is no longer co-hosted by Matt Lyda. Instead, it is now co-hosted by WWE Hall of Famer Michelle McCool, who happens to be Undertaker’s wife.

Speaking to Maven in his new YouTube video, Matt Lyda explains how he heard from The Undertaker that he would no longer be co-hosting the podcast.

“So we just got done filming one of my heroes in the sport, Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts, and Diamond Dallas Page, who I’ve been friends with for a while. They came in, we filmed, we batch shoot. The last episode that we shot that day was me and Mark talking, which was going to be the first episode of that kind of group that would go out. So we do that, get it done. I do what I always do, and say, ‘How’s everything going? How’s the wife, kids, all that stuff? How’s the home?’ He goes, ‘I really want to talk to you about some stuff.’ I was like, ‘Okay.’

“I thought that he was about to tell me, ‘I’m done, you know, that he was gonna quit altogether, yeah? Just too much. I thought he was just gonna be like, ‘Hey man, LFG, everything else. I’m done, just too much on my plate.’ He’s like, ‘Hey, the podcast’s gonna be taken over by WWE. We’re gonna move in that direction.’ I had no clue at that point. I was like, ‘So I’m assuming that this is the end of my run on this.’ He goes, ‘Yeah, unfortunately.'”

Still, Matt Lyda says there are no hard feelings between him and the WWE Hall of Famer and that they always had a pact not to let business get in the way of their friendship.

The Undertaker is a coach on WWE LFG, which airs on A&E. In the second season of the series, his wife, Michelle McCool, also became a coach.
