Matt Jackson Looks Back On ‘Evil EVP’ Gimmick: “It Was Always A Good Time & Hilarious”

That was a fun period of time for Matt Jackson.

There was a period on All Elite Wrestling programming when The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson) used their Executive Vice President status to push themselves and their affiliates forward.

While doing a Q&A for Being The Elite, Matt Jackson described the presentation as ‘evil EVPs’ and spoke about how much fun it was.

“I had so much fun doing the ‘Evil E.V.P.’ gimmick. Every week, we try to come up with something clever, something funny… Every week though, it’s like, what could we do to further this storyline? What funny things can we do to mess with production? It was always a good time and hilarious, and just a really fun year — to do something different too… We’re like, ‘This is something completely different’ so that was really fun.”

Matt and Nick lost their E.V.P. titles when they were defeated by the duo of Swerve Strickland and Will Ospreay at AEW All In Texas in July 2025.
