Matt Cardona discusses if he will miss this part of his career once it’s over.

In 2020, Matt Cardona was released from his WWE contract and since then, he has been a staple of the pro wrestling independent scene, mainly with promotions such as GCW. His run has drawn attention, as he has been also a staple in TNA, while making sporadic appearances for AEW in recent years also.

While speaking to Daniel Menna in a new interview, Cardona was asked how he will feel once this current independent wrestling run is over for him.

“I love this life. Absolutely love it. I love the grind. I love the hustle. I love being able to make my own schedule. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t miss Madison Square Garden. You know what I’m saying? Like, I miss taking showers after a show because the venue has a proper locker room with showers. I miss that. So right now, I’m having a great time. But when this indie run ends, I will certainly miss this part of my career because it was so special because I did it my way on my own terms. A lot of success, a lot of failures, but all because of me, which I love. I love taking accountability for the good and bad things.”

Elsewhere in the same interview, Cardona was asked about his feud with Shotzi Blackheart. You can read more about that here.
