Mark Henry: There Was A Line Of About 30 or 40 People To Get To John Cena To Hug Him

The moments backstage may never be revealed, but WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry gave a taste of what happened when John Cena walked through the curtain for the final time. Henry was one of many legends invited to sit ringside for Cena’s final match on Saturday Night’s Main Event.

“I walked through the back… and there was a line of about 30 or 40 people to get to John to hug him and console him. We gave the salute and I kept going,” Henry said on Busted Open Radio.

Henry continued, “People were emotional. The last time I’ve seen people crying, emotional like that was somebody passed away. John is still alive and well. He’s gonna go to Hollywood. He’s gonna make some incredible films. You’re gonna keep hearing him every day on all the commercials and ad spaces that he does. He’s not going away. He’s just going away from the ring.”

Whether it was NXT superstars, legends, or friends and family, it’s clear John Cena has left a lasting impression on the pro wrestling industry. He may have tapped out to Gunther, but fans won’t soon forget the night of Cena’s final match.
