Marigold Announces Participants For Dream Star Grand Prix 2025

Marigold has announced the lineup for the upcoming Dream Star Grand Prix, their round-robin tournament, which begins in August.
Marigold is ready for tournament season to begin.
The 2025 edition of the Dream Star Grand Prix, Marigold’s round-robin style tournament, will begin on August 2nd in Osaka and will run through September 14th, the day of the finals.
During Marigold’s Korakuen Hall show on Tuesday as part of the Burning Desire 2025 tour, they announced the participants who will take part in the field of 16 this year.
Among the names is Mayu Iwatani, who joined the company back in May. Iwatani had announced after last year’s STARDOM 5STAR Grand Prix that she’d no longer compete in the tournament, before she departed from the company. Her inclusion in the Dream Star Grand Prix adds a major first-time name to the field.
The tournament will also feature the inaugural Dream Star GP winner Utami Hayashishita, who currently reigns as Marigold World Champion.
Here’s the full list of competitors announced:
- Mayu Iwatani (1st)
- Utami Hayashishita (2nd)

The final spot in the tournament will be decided in a gauntlet match, as announced at the end of the show. Marvelous rookie Senka Akatsuki was the one asking to join the tournament, so she’s expected to take part in the gauntlet. Rea Seto, Komomo Minami, Nao Ishikawa, and others are also expected.
