Lyra Valkyria: I Always Have The NXT Crowd To Thank For The Chants That Happen When I Do My Entrance
Lyra Valkyria says that she has the NXT crowd to thank for the chants that happen when she makes her entrance.

Lyra Valkyria talks her character and the ‘Woo!’ chants she receives from fans.
Since making her debut in WWE NXT, Valkyria has done her best to embody the mythos of the Morrigan, and due to that has donned wings for more than one entrance, along with received ‘woo!’ chants in tune with her theme song.
While speaking to TVInsider in a new interview, Lyra was asked about the background to her character, joking about the research she puts in only for fans to simplify it as ‘Bird Lady!’
“My inspiration comes from an Irish mythology goddess called the Morrigan, who is basically Ireland’s version of the Valkyrie. That’s where it all came from. The audience is so funny. I have all this research and want it to look like this and that. There was so much work into it. Then it’s broken down into, “Bird Lady!”
Lyra was then asked about the chants she receives, something that she thanks the NXT crowd for starting.
“I always have the NXT crowd to thank for the chants that happen when I do my entrance. That started in NXT. It’s that close-knit, homegrown crowd that comes back every time. It was pretty crazy when it started. The fact it stuck and evolved to the point of people doing it during WrestleMania. That’s very cool.”
Bayley recently reacted to Irish fans repurposing chants usually aimed at her for Lyra Valkyria. You can read more about that here.
