LJ Cleary talks the importance of promos.
Cleary is a world traveled pro wrestler, and has wrestled all over the world, from his home country of Ireland, to the bustling Brit Wrestling scene and working in Japan with promotions such as NOAH and New Japan Pro Wrestling. Cleary also took part in the recent WWE tryouts during WWE SummerSlam week.
While participating in the tryouts, Cleary spoke with The Angle Podcast and spoke about the biggest takeaway he had after the tryouts.
“Being someone who’s spent years on the independents, I’ve also been lucky to spend 2 years in Japan wrestling, here especially, we did some promo work, we always hear in the grand scope of work well it’s World Wrestling Entertainment, you want to make people feel, you want to draw people’s emotions in, from my experience, you don’t get to really understand what that means until you’re here. When it was explained to me yesterday and then we’re put in the position of well okay go, speak in front of all these people and I’ve done promos before, but here, understanding the importance of it, like I and maybe other wrestlers are used to are this ring in that building that night and then we move on to the next one.”
Elsewhere in another recent interview, LJ spoke about how he came to partake in the tryouts. You can read more about that here.
