Lacey Lane (Kayden Carter) Recounts Tag Match Against Ronda Rousey & Shayna Baszler On WWE Raw, Rousey Fighting For Them To Get More Time

Lane was asked about the main roster tag team division.

The duo of Lacey Lane and Kacy Catanzaro, f.k.a. Kayden Carter and Katana Chance, had been paired together in WWE from 2018 to their respective releases in 2025.

Lane’s time in WWE was recounted, and she opened up about it while on Busted Open. One of the questions posed to her was whether WWE knows what they’re doing with their main roster tag team division or not.

She then shared the story of her and Kacy’s WWE Raw in-ring debut in 2023. They faced then-WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler. Lane stated that Rousey fought for them to get more time.

“It was unfortunate because when we debuted and we wrestled Ronda (Rousey) and Shayna (Baszler), Ronda really fought for that match and everything for us to have some time, and I thought we went out there and we put on a show for the tag division. I felt like it was something different. I’ve always tried to be unique in how we do tag matches because I’ve always loved tag wrestling, and so, I thought we were on a good path, and then, there was several tag teams and I go, I was like, okay, we’re gonna build around this for the tag division, and I’m not sure why it’s such a taboo thing where everyone’s like, oh, women’s tag wrestling isn’t anything and I’m like, ‘It’s fun!’ It’s fun. So I’m not quite sure why; what happened because I feel like we’ve set a bar with our debut and each time, we gave something different to tag matches because we try to put it together differently, or, bring just a different moveset, new excitement, new character. So, I have no idea honestly. That’s been something in my mind that I try to…”

Fast forward to present day, Lane, Catanzaro, Rousey, and Baszler are no longer with WWE as in-ring performers.
