Kyle O’Reilly Is ‘Not Gonna Be Able To Wipe A Smile Off His Face For A Long Time’ After 5/11 Collision
Kyle O’Reilly comments after his unsuccessful challenge for the AEW TNT Championship on Saturday’s episode of AEW Collision.
On Saturday’s episode of Collision, Kyle challenged Adam Copeland for the championship in his home town of Vancouver. Unfortunately, Kyle came up short, but he is still on cloud nine after the matchup.
While speaking in a digital exclusive posted to AEW’s social media, O’Reilly noted that his match with Copeland, even though he lost, made all of the sacrificed throughout his career worth it.
“Well, my rib might be broken. I’m not the TNT champion. I lost the match. But how the can I be disappointed? I just wrestled in my hometown in front of an amazing crowd against Adam Copeland, a guy that I don’t just have the most respect for inside the ring, but outside the ring. As a man, as a human being, as a father, he’s a guy that I’ve looked up to for a long time. I don’t know what else to say besides maybe they should just start saying I’m from whatever town we wrestle in because I’ve never had a reaction like that in my life, and it was so special. I just feel like I’m on cloud nine right now, man. Nights like tonight will make all the sacrifices, having to leave my hometown, live in a country illegally, not have any money. Sleeping in a cockroach-infested basement to get to tonight? It’s perfect. I’m stoked, man. Not gonna be able to wipe a smile off my face for a long time. So, uh, time to see the doctor.”

After the matchup, Copeland would also give praise to O’Reilly, noting that if Kyle gets another shot at the TNT title, there’s a good chance he wins it. You can read more about that here.
