Kyle Fletcher Says Gunther Hit Him Harder Than Anyone Else In Wrestling
Kyle Fletcher and Gunther are in two different promotions today. However, they have crossed paths in the past. In those bouts, Gunther left an impression on Kyle, both physically and figuratively. Now, he’s sharing a story about it.
Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp recently interviewed Kyle Fletcher. Fletcher named Gunther as the hardest hitter in the ring. The current WWE World Heavyweight Champion and rising star in AEW have been opposite each other in ten tag team matches.
Several of those matches featured Fletcher teaming with Mark Davis against Ringkampf’s Gunther and Timothy Thatcher. Fletcher references one of those matches while discussing the pain Gunther put him through.
“I have been walloped. I’ve walloped back as well. It was Aussie Open versus Ringkampf. Gunther hit me really hard, but then he put me up on the top rope, my lower back on the actual turnbuckle itself, and then stood on my throat as hard as he could. I thought I broke my spine. Big beefy boy (at the time). 300 pounds on my throat.”
Gunther still packs a punch. He recently had the honor of retiring Goldberg. Their match took place at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event. Fans can learn more about that here.
