KUSHIDA Wins MLW World Middleweight Title At MLW Battle Riot VIII
KUSHIDA captured the MLW World Middleweight Title at MLW Battle Riot VII.
KUSHIDA defeated Templario with a leg hook brainbuster to win the title. After the match Ikuro Kwon confronted KUSHIDA. Instead of continuing his journey to go after the World Middleweight Title, Kwon attacked Titan.
He then handed KUSHIDA a CONTRA shirt. KUSHDA hesitated, but ultimately put the shirt on, officially joining CONTRA.

This marks the first Middleweight Title reign for KUSHIDA. Templario’s reign lasted 138 days (ending when the match was taped on January 29). He made three successful title defenses.
