Kris Statlander On All-Women Blood & Guts In AEW: I’m All For It
Kris Statlander gives her thoughts on the potential of AEW hosting an all-women Blood & Guts bout in a new interview with Fightful’s Grapsody.
AEW’s women’s division continues to make its mark in wrestling history. Over the years, many women in AEW have found their place in Hardcore Matches. Street fights featuring Thunder Rosa, Willow Nightingale, Deonna Purrazzo, Ruby Soho, Britt Baker, Tay Conti, and others have helped push AEW forward and establish their women as top-tier in ways different from others carving out their path in wrestling.
Kris Statlander has been part of these moments as well. While she is currently focused on winning singles gold in AEW, she’s no stranger to intense women’s team brawls. Speaking on Grapsody, Statlander discussed the possibility of an all-women Blood & Guts match. She says she thrives in those types of matches and hopes to be part of the inaugural one if it ever gets booked.
“I mean, I’m all for it. I love hardcore. I love doing crazy things. I love getting that reaction of people being like, ‘How are they sick in the head enough to do it?’ I’d say, ‘I don’t know, but I’m going to do it, and I’m going to do it even more insane than you expected.’ I do see the speculation online a lot, and I’ve said this before, but I know kind of fans kind of go off of, like, the timeline of like, what time of year things happen around, yeah, and I have no idea when Blood & Guts happens. Every year I’ve seen it. I’ve wrestled post-Blood & Guts in a Blood & Guts ring. I have no idea what time of year it happens. So I have zero timeline of the potential of it happening. So in my heart, there’s still a very good chance that it could happen. I would love to be a part of it if it does.“
