Kris Statlander Hints At Listening To Jon Moxley, Says Wheeler Yuta Is Not Her Responsibility
Kris Statlander discusses where she stands with Jon Moxley, Wheeler Yuta, and the Death Riders in a recent interview with Fightful’s Grapsody podcast.
Kris Statlander has found herself in the midst of the conflict between AEW and Jon Moxley’s Death Riders. While she continues to establish herself in AEW’s women’s division, her past relationship with Wheeler Yuta has attracted attention from Moxley and the Death Riders. Recently, Moxley has spoken positively about Statlander and even assisted her in retrieving money she earned from the Young Bucks after winning a match that secured her $100,000.
Speaking on Grapsody, Kris Statlander was firm that Wheeler Yuta was not her responsibility, and she doesn’t understand how he keeps finding out exactly where she is. However, when it comes to MOX, she is interested in listening to the advice of a top guy in AEW.
“Wheeler Yuta is not my responsibility. I don’t know how he’s getting access to everywhere that I am. He needs to be checked. However, one popular quote that is said a lot amongst wrestlers is that, a lot of people are going to give you advice, and you can pick and choose to your needs, what sticks with you. So in that sense, what Yuta’s saying, not my cup of tea. But when a former World Champion, sort of the top guy in our company, is going out of his way to say a few kind words to you, I don’t know if it’s necessarily a bad thing or if it’s ill-advised to maybe listen to what a top guy has to say to you. So that’s all I will say on the matter.”
Kris Statlander has the chance to become a World Champion in her own right on September 20. She will face Thekla, Jamie Hayter, and Toni Storm for the AEW Women’s World Title at AEW All Out: Toronto. Check out the full card for that event here.
