Kenny Omega and Ibushi have been teaming together for over 15 years on and off, and also have been rivals despite being known as ‘The Golden Lovers’. Their relationship has transcended promotions, with the pair working together in DDT, NJPW, AEW and more over the years. Most recently, the pair have been allies in All Elite Wrestling, teaming together inside Blood and Guts amongst a range of other multi man tag team bouts.
While speaking in the latest episode of Hey! (EW), RJ asked Kota what he has learned about love throughout the Golden Lovers saga.
“It’s not the love between Ibushi and Kenny, I learned something about true love. I learned what true love is for people around me, the love for people around him like family and friends, through the love that Kenny Omega gave me.”
In the lead up to AEW All In earlier this Summer, Kota would return to AEW programming by the side of Omega, taking on Kazuchika Okada in singles action and providing backup for Kenny against the Don Callis Family. You can read more about the pair’s match on AEW Dynamite here.
