Konosuke Takeshita States That He’s Still Signed To NJPW & Will Be Wrestling For NJPW Throughout 2026

Takeshita is sticking around.

At NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 20, Konosuke Takeshita’s reign as IWGP World Heavyweight Champion came to an end as he was defeated by Yota Tsuji.

Takeshita was back in action the following day at New Year Dash. He teamed with Rocky Romero, and they defeated Young Lion Shoma Kato and NJPW World Television Champion El Phantasmo. There was a post-match altercation between Phantasmo and Takeshita.

In Takeshita’s post-match comments, he stated that he remains contracted to New Japan and will be wrestling for the promotion throughout 2026.

Takeshita is contracted to NJPW, DDT, and All Elite Wrestling.
