Killer Kross Talks MLW Return, Praises The Company’s Collaborative Creative Process

Killer Kross discusses his return to MLW.

Back in November, Kross returned to the promotion in a big way, defeating Matt Riddle in a singles match at the collab event with Don Gato Tequila.

Chatting with Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp for a new interview, Kross said that he spoke with Court Bauer about a return shortly after a lengthy chat with Paul Walter Hauser.

“Oh yeah, big time. I think I was just casually talking to Paul Walter Hauser. I think we’re on the phone for like an hour about other stuff—life, wrestling—MLW came up and I was like, ‘Oh, yeah, like that’s a great spot to be.’ He’s over there as well. We just kind of took it from there. I wound up speaking with Court Bauer shortly after that. I think Court maybe texted me at the time too, maybe before. It’s been a whirlwind. I don’t remember the order at all happened. But I was like, ‘Oh, that’s definitely a yes. We’ll be able to go there.’”

Kross went on to explain what he loves about MLW and the way that the company approaches the creative process.

I’ve said this before, even previously long before, coming back to MLW, what I really, really like about the company is there’s availability to have conversations collaboratively about ideas and the ideas all revolve around how much the audience is going to like what we’re about to do. It’s not like I have this great idea and I’m married to it. It’s like, ‘How is this going to land with our audience? Where are we? What city? What state? What are they like? Who are the players involved? How can we do something where, one guy goes over, but two guys get over?’ That’s very important to me. I think that with that mentality, when you’re going into something like that, it’s like all the ships rise when everybody’s over and that mentality is shared there with them and I really liked that. That speaks to me.”
