Jason Charles Miller Details Singing Kenny Omega’s Theme At AEW All In

Kenny Omega got a special entrance at AEW All In with ties to Final Fantasy 14. Jason Charles Miller, with backing from a druid choir, performed the theme for Omega, who walked through a burning Omega logo as part of the entrance.

Speaking on his Intro Skippers podcast, Jason explained how the performance came together.

First, Jason noted that he sings four songs for Final Fantasy 14.

“The composer of Final Fantasy 14 reached out to me and said, ‘Kenny Omega has approached us to write his new entrance theme. Would you like to sing it?’ I was like, ‘Hell yes.’ That’s what I did at the end of December for January 5th,” he said.

Omega used the song for AEW x NJPW Wrestle Dynasty and his match against Gabe Kidd.

“About three weeks ago, I get a text from Kenny’s manager that says, ‘Would you like to sing Kenny’s song live at All In?’ Didn’t hesitate,” said Jason.

Jason said he flew to Texas on Friday and had rehersal and sound check that afternoon.

“The song Take Flight is very orchestral in nature. The idea that we would have an orchestra on stage just wasn’t practical because everyone has to move around so quickly. There is no way to get an orchestra on stage right after a match and have them play for the next match. There is a choir on the track, so I reached out to a friend of mine who is now a music teacher. ‘I need to help AEW find a choir in Dallas. Can you help me?’ He got me a student at the University of North Texas named Luke. He put together a choir of 12 students. AEW got them cool, creepy robes. The idea was that they were Sephiroth-clones from Final Fantasy 7. I’ve been on a lot of tours and have sung at stadiums before, but this was such a cool experience,” he said.

Jason said he was nervous until he started singing, and then things were fine.

Omega battled Kazuchika Okada in a bout for the AEW Unified Championship at AEW All In. Okada was victorious, capturing the AEW Unified Title and AEW International Title.
