JTG Says There Was Talk Of Cryme Tyme Winning WWE Tag Titles ‘Plenty Of Times’

JTG comments on Cryme Tyme not winning the WWE Tag Team Championships during their run in WWE.
During their time in WWE, Cryme Tyme (JTG and Shad Gaspard) would find themselves very popular with the WWE audience, even getting the opportunity to work with John Cena in 2008. However, despite this popularity, the duo could not capture the WWE Tag Team Championships, despite challenging for them on several occasions on RAW and SmackDown. The pair would both exit the company without capturing a championship in the promotion.
While speaking to Recap, Rewind, Relive in a new interview, JTG was asked about the pair not winning tag team gold, and if it had come up in conversations. JTG noted that there was talk of it happening ‘plenty of times’ but ‘politics and heat’ would get in the way.
“Plenty of times. There was a few times. But, politics, heat, you know. Looking back, you know, lessons learned.”
Elsewhere in a previous interview, JTG spoke about wanting to honor the late Shad Gaspard in the best way possible. You can read more about that here.
