Josh Mathews Makes On-Screen AEW Debut At AEW All In

Josh Mathews made his on-screen debut for AEW during the AEW All In Zero Hour pre-show.
Mathews was introduced by Renee Paquette as she, Paul Wight, Jeff Jarrett, and RJ City were previewing the card.
Mathews gave some thoughts on the card before introducing a previously recorded interview segment with himself, Will Ospreay, and Swerve Strickland.
Ospreay & Strickland will face The Young Bucks (Matthew Jackson & Nicholas Jackson) at AEW All In with major stakes on the line. If Ospreay & Strickland win, the Bucks will no longer be EVPs in AEW. If Ospreay & Strickland lose, they cannot challenge for the AEW World Title for a year.
It was reported in May by PWInsider that Mathews was working backstage at AEW and ROH. Mathews would confirm his role, writing, “Right now, shadowing Mike Mansury. So, I’ll do the Ring of Honor matches before. Then I’ll sit and watch Collision. Then I’ll do the Ring of Honor matches after.”
Josh Mathews previously worked on-screen as an announcer and interviewer in WWE and as an announcer and backstage role in TNA Wrestling. He departed TNA Wrestling in February 2025.
