Jey Uso Defeats Rusev To Advance In The Last Time Is Now Tournament

Jey Uso is now one step closer to facing John Cena in his retirement match.

On the November 28, 2025 edition of Friday Night SmackDown (taped a week earlier), Jey Uso went up against Rusev in the Last Time is Now tournament.

The match began with Rusev immediately going after Uso and making quick work of him. Rusev had the upper hand throughout this match, and he tried to end it quickly with The Accolade, but Uso escaped.

Jey hit him with a Samoan Drop for the cover, but Rusev kicked out. Shortly after, Jey hit him with a spear, and Rusev quickly got up again. Jey got on the top rope and was hit to the face with a Machka Kick. Rusev went for the cover, but Uso got his shoulders up.

Rusev wasn’t happy. He screamed, “It’s over,” as he put Uso in The Accolade. Jey was struggling, but he eventually reached the ropes.

Later, Rusev tried to go for the Attitude Adjustment, but got hit with a spear instead. Jey found the timing to land a Uso Splash, and this got him the pinfall victory.

Jey Uso has now reached the semifinals in the Last Time is Now tournament.
