Before the ‘Whoop That Trick’ chant began in WWE for Trick Williams in WWE NXT, the chant had been used by the Memphis Grizzlies as part of hyping up their crowds before their basketball games.
While speaking to ABC24 Memphis in a new interview, Je’Von Evans asked if he would give the chant to Memphis or if he would choose Trick Williams to have the chant if only one could take ownership of it, with Evans choosing the team he says he is ‘a big fan’ of.
“I mean, if you asking me, I think I’m going to have to go with Memphis, bro. Come on now. Like Memphis already had the champ before Trick try to get it, you know what I mean? So I’m going to give it to Memphis, you feel me and I’m a big Memphis fan. Shout out to Ja.”
