JBL Speaks About WWE’s Production Of AAA Triplemanía XXXIII: “For The First Time, These Guys Have Structure In Their System”

JBL reflects on his experience calling Triplemanía.

On the call for AAA Triplemanía XXXIII were the commentary trio of Corey Graves, Konnan, and John Bradshaw Layfield.

Layfield looked back on the experience of calling Triplemanía and did so on an episode of Something To Wrestle. He said it was one of the most fun shows he’s ever been a part of.

“Oh my God, what a blast it was. That was one of the most fun shows I’ve ever been a part of. That was so freaking fun. When we started the show, Corey (Graves) asked me on-air — you know, of course you’re in character but he says, ‘What are we expecting here?’ You have no idea. This is gonna be wild, and it is. I mean, from Pimpinela to the world’s smallest mini, to the world’s biggest giant, to iguana reptilian love triangle, to puppet fights. It’s insane, and some incredible work by the way.”

Layfield went on to speak about WWE’s production of Triplemanía. He stated that for the first time, AAA has a structure in its system.

“The production, to me, it was so good with what they had done. You had everybody down there. You had WWE talent down there, you had Triple H down there, you had Nick Khan down there. You saw the pictures of all these guys, but they went over, like, WrestleMania schedule. They went over the rehearsals and all the different stuff they did and there’s a lot of structure, that for the first time, these guys have structure in their system. That’s gonna help them tremendously and I think that’s why the show was so good. That was one of the best shows… It’s one of the best shows I’ve ever been a part of. I thought it was that good, from top to bottom. That thing was wild, it was crazy but it was incredibly well done.”

Next up on the docket for WWE x AAA is Worlds Collide on September 12th in Las Vegas, Nevada. That show will be headlined by Dominik Mysterio challenging El Hijo del Vikingo for the AAA Mega Championship.
