Jamie Hayter Respects Thekla But Plans To Kick Her Ass At AEW WrestleDream

Jamie Hayter is ready to kick Thekla’s ass at AEW WrestleDream. However, she admits that she does have a great deal of respect for her.

Thekla made her debut in AEW by attacking Jamie Hayter. This attack would take out Hayter for several months, and now, they are ready to finally settle their issues on pay-per-view when they wrestle at AEW WrestleDream.

Ahead of the match, Jamie Hayter spoke with Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful. During the discussion, she said that if given the opportunity, she and Thekla would always take pleasure in beating crap out of one another.

“We absolutely would, if given the opportunity, we absolutely would. That’s why, you know, on Saturday it’s gonna go down, for sure. I’m not holding back from Thekla, trust me,” she said when it was suggested that her rivalry with Thekla could be akin to the rivalry between Peter Griffin and Ernie the Chicken on Family Guy.

Continuing on, she spoke about her interest in the rivalry with Thekla. Despite their on-screen issues, Jamie Hayer says she has nothing but respect for Thekla and finds similarities between them.

“It’s been interesting, that’s for sure. I don’t really know much about Tekla. I don’t really know much about her background or her story. I quite like the vibe. She’s very similar to me. We like to kick ass and see who the better woman is. So, as much as she’s a pain in my ass right now, I respect her. I respect her. I’m just looking forward to Saturday.”

She also explained that although they’ve traveled the same roads in Japan, they never crossed paths until now.

“Honestly, we just didn’t cross paths. I didn’t cross paths with quite a lot of people in Japan, I feel like. So, yeah, it’s just another one of those things where it’s like, you go to the same place, but you never quite connect.”
