Jack Perry Thought People Wouldn’t Know Who He Was When He Reemerged At NJPW Battle In The Valley 2024

Perry looks back at his reemergence.

In August 2023, Jack Perry and CM Punk got into a physical altercation backstage at AEW All In that resulted in Punk being fired from All Elite Wrestling and Perry being indefinitely suspended from the company.

Perry would not be seen again until January 2024, when he showed up at NJPW Battle in the Valley and attacked Shota Umino. Perry looked back on his reemergence as he was chatting with Renee Paquette on the latest episode of Close Up. He said he thought people were not going to know who he was when he showed up.

“It was San Jose, the first one, and that, that was the first time I’d been seen and I’d grown a sh*tty beard and all this stuff. That felt really cool though because then people were, ‘Oh my God, what’s going on here? This is a totally new kind of thing,’ which I was kind of worried no one was gonna know who I was, and then yeah, so they did and it was cool…”

Perry did not return to AEW programming until the backend of 2024. Present day, he is coming off a run in the 2025 Continental Classic tournament, where he finished with six points in the Gold League.
