IYO SKY: Promos Make Me Nervous, Even Only Short Lines Make Me So Nervous

IYO Sky speaks on how she feels cutting promos.

Throughout her time in WWE, IYO SKY has cut her promos in a mix of Japanese and English, with more English promos becoming common the longer she has been with the company. However, despite her improving English, SKY remains nervous during them.

While speaking to Insight with Chris Van Vliet, IYO shared that she went to English school when she signed with WWE, but it didn’t help much, but admitted it was better than nothing.

“So I went to English school once I got a contract with WWE, but only 30 minutes in a week, or one hour a week, or twice a week, or something like that. So it didn’t help as much, better than nothing.”

SKY continued, noting that she is still nervous about cutting promos in English.

“Promos make me nervous, even only short lines makes me so nervous, because even backstage from everything, because we are on TV, behind the camera. So that’s why I’m always careful about speaking proper English, like now I’m pretty relaxed to speak English, sometimes even broken English, you will understand, but on camera, I have to memorize proper English.”
