Hiroshi Tanahashi’s Parents Surprise Him At Talk Show Event
A pleasant surprise for the NJPW President.
There was a talk show centered around New Japan Pro-Wrestling President Hiroshi Tanahashi. It took place on November 3rd in Tanahashi’s hometown of Ogaki, Gifu, Japan. The Ogakishi Suitopia Center hosted the event.
The talk show was organized by NJPW and Hitoshi Ishida, the Mayor of Ogaki. Ishida was present and delivered a bouquet of flowers to Tanahashi.
During the talk event, Tanahashi opened up about his childhood, and the moderator stated that people who know Tanahashi’s childhood very well were in attendance. He then introduced Tanahashi’s mother and father.
Tanahashi’s final match is scheduled for Wrestle Kingdom 20 on January 4th, 2026. His opponent has yet to be announced, but Tanahashi was approached by NJPW booker Gedo after Tanahashi’s Homecoming event on 11/2. Gedo said he’d prepare an opponent for Tanahashi.
