Hirooki Goto To Defend IWGP World Heavyweight Title Against Zack Sabre Jr At NJPW Resurgence
The next two IWGP World Heavyweight Title bouts are set.
Hirooki Goto will defend his IWGP World Heavyweight Championship against Zack Sabre Jr at NJPW Resurgence on May 9th. The winner will defend against Shingo Takagi at NJPW Dominion on June 15th.
The bouts were agreed to at NJPW Wrestling Dontaku after Goto successfully defended his title against Callum Newman in the main event.
After the match, Sabre Jr asked for his rematch and Goto agreed. Goto won the title from Sabre Jr at NJPW The New Beginning In Osaka 2025. Shingo arrived and declared his intention to challenge the winner for the title at NJPW Dominion.
