Hikaru Shida says she’s recently renewed her visa and AEW contract.

Shida has been a staple of AEW’s women’s division for several years now, having won the AEW Women’s World Championship multiple times as well as challenging for the TBS Championship. However, she has been off AEW television since her last match in November of last year.

While speaking on a livestream on her YouTube channel on Friday evening, while speaking about her recent stage work in Japan, Hikaru Shida noted that she just renewed her visa and contract.

“Actually, after the show, many fans asked me, like, are you retiring or it’s just play? Of course it’s just play. I’m not retiring. I just renewed my visa and contract, so I’m not retiring. But fans asked me, so that means my acting was too good.”

Shida noted on October 2nd while at the airport that she couldn’t wait to go back to the USA after a long time away due to her visa issues. You can read more about that here.

While Shida was in Japan, Kenny Omega would cat sit for her. You can read more about that here.
