Hangman Page On AEW World Title Win: I Had To Win This

Hangman Page talks finally winning back the AEW World Title.

Hangman Page discusses finally reclaiming the AEW World Title at All In 2025.

At AEW All In 2025 on July 12th, Hangman would meet Jon Moxley in the main event of the show with the AEW World Title on the line. Following a brutal Texas Deathmatch and appearances from The Death Riders, The Young Bucks and Hangman’s allies, Page would force Moxley to submit in order to free the AEW World Title from the briefcase it previously resided in.

While speaking during the AEW All In 2025 Post Show Media Scrum, Hangman Page was asked by Righteous Reg of Pro Wrestling Illustrated and Grapsody about his win on the show.

“I had to win this. I had to. I spent so long. I lost the world championship over three years ago and I spent so long thinking that I had reached the pinnacle moment of my career and that I was l looking at a downward trajectory for the rest of my life. I had reached the mountain. Between that and everything I had been through in the past year and a half, I needed to know, for myself, that I was still going to be able to live up to the potential that I had, because I had done that before. I knew this championship was my potential as a person. I needed to know, professionally and personally, that I could live up to it and that I could do this again. I had no choice. Being our biggest show in North America, the stakes were high, but I cannot imagine the feeling for AEW, if after this gigantic show, Jon Moxley and the Death Riders had kept this championship. I cannot imagine the heartbreak that would have been for all of us. That responsibility was on my shoulders. I had no choice. It’s what I had to do.”

Elsewhere in his same appearance on the AEW All In Post Show Media Scrum, Page spoke about Swerve Strickland’s involvement in the match. You can read more about that here.
