Grado comments on replacing Matt Riddle after he no showed a UK event.

On August 31st, Matt Riddle reportedly had no-showed a charity event put on by Global Wrestling Kingdom, titled ‘A New Kingdom Rises’ in Barnsley, England. He has also reportedly not returned the deposit he received for his planned appearance, and was replaced in his match by Grado – who would take on Simon Miller instead.

While speaking to Cultaholic about the incident, Grado noted that he had made a five hour drive to replace Riddle.

“I got the phone call late Saturday night from Al Snow, Steve Lynskey and Liam the promoter to make the five-hour drive from Ayrshire to Barnsley.”

Grado noted his concern that fans would be upset with him being the replacement, but noted the reaction was incredible. He also put over Simon Miller as a tremendous pro.

“I was a wee bit worried the fans would be upset at me being the replacement as we are completely different wrestlers in more than one way. However, the reaction was incredible and the lads and lassies in the back absolutely burst their arses to give the fans a cracking show. Shout out to Simon Miller for being a tremendous pro also!”
