Frankie Kazarian Feels He Earned TNA World Title: “This Title Was Earned In The Trenches Years Ago”

Frankie Kazarian is the new champion.

There was a new TNA World Champion crowned on the live edition of TNA iMPACT on November 13th. After the now-former champion Mike Santana was ambushed by a group of WWE NXT talents, Kazarian showed up with the Call Your Shot Gauntlet trophy and went on to defeat Santana.

Kazarian’s first post-title win media appearance was with Busted Open, and he further addressed the negative reactions to his title win. He said he loves the way he became champion.

“Well, first of all, I love that. I welcome it. Nothing makes me happier than angry wrestling fans, because guess what? I evoked emotion out of you. You’re pissed off because you didn’t see this coming. You’re pissed off because The Joker won, Batman didn’t, and that is pro wrestling at its finest. So, I am literally laying in my hotel room bed, basking in the tears of all these fans, and loving it and enjoying it and just living in the moment. I really, really am.

I love the way I became TNA World Champion. For what Frankie Kazarian, the King of TNA is doing right now, there’s no better way to do it.”

Following up on that, Kazarian was asked if he feels he earned the TNA World Championship. Here was his response:

“Oh, I’ve earned it. I’ve more than earned it. Talking about putting in your reps and putting in your time, specifically for this company. I earned this title in 2007, I earned this title in 2010, I earned this title on the road for TNA, busting my ass, doing everything they asked me. Never b*tching, never complaining, being passed over, being looked over. Falling on swords for other talent. That’s where I earned this title. Last night was the icing on the cake. This title was earned in the trenches years ago.”

Kazarian is going to be present at TNA Turning Point. He’ll be hosting his signature talk show segment on the pre-show, and then in the main event, he’ll team with Nic Nemeth to take on Mike Santana and TNA International Champion Steve Maclin.
