ESPN VPs State That ESPN Reporters Will Have Full Independence In How They Cover WWE & WWE’s Competitors

ESPN reporters will have full independence in their coverage.

The first-ever WWE-ESPN media call took place ahead of the Wrestlepalooza Premium Live Event on September 20th.

Fielding questions from the media were Matt Kenny, ESPN Vice President of Programming and Acquisitions, and JT Lasker, Senior Vice President of ESPN+.

At the backend of the call, the execs were asked if ESPN reporters would have full independence in how they cover WWE and WWE’s competitors. Their responses are below:

Lasker: “Yeah, I think the answer to that is an emphatic yes.”

Kenny: “Unequivocal, yes, and that’s separation of church and state. I know we have some P.R. folks on here that could probably underscore that, but yes.”

WWE’s main roster Premium Live Events will air on ESPN’s new direct-to-consumer service. The NXT PLEs remain on Peacock.
