Eric Bischoff Wouldn’t Mind RAF Series Airing On Saturday Nights, Says He’s In Discussions With Fox And Other Networks

Real American Freestyle held its debut event on August 30th in Cleveland, Ohio. The event aired on Fox Nation, and is billed as “the future of wrestling” as it combines the entertainment side of pro wrestling with the reality of amateur wrestling.
Speaking to Tony Maglio of The Hollywood Reporter, Eric Bischoff, one of the founders of the promotion, spoke about a potential TV deal.
“I really think there’s a market for it, and it’s a big part of our future,” he said.
Bischoff and his business partner Chad Bronstein have plans to create a live, weekly, two-hour Real American Freestyle show. Bischoff says they’re currently in discussions with Fox (which now includes new streamer Fox One) and “also with other networks” on the potential weekly episodic series.
“You know, I don’t mind Saturday nights. I’ll be honest with you, it’s not the greatest night for television in terms of HUT — households using television — and so forth, but it works for me. We gotta stay away from Monday night because you’re gonna have football. Thursday you’ve got football. There’s a lot of wrestling on Monday night (WWE) and Friday night (WWE) and Wednesday night with AEW,” said Bischoff.
AEW Collision runs on Saturday nights, though the program is shifted to Thursday nights throughout the year. WWE PLEs also run on Saturday nights.
