Elderly Man At Jinder Mahal’s Wedding Was Legitimately Upset At Drew McIntyre For Hitting Shanky With Chair In WWE

The situation was later cleared up.

There was a 3MB (Raj Dhesi, Drew McIntyre & Heath Slater) reunion at Dhesi, the former Jinder Mahal’s wedding, during the summer of 2025.

Also in attendance for the wedding was former WWE talent Shanky, who was in a group with Dhesi and Veer while they were all with the sports entertainment company.

Shanky was interviewed by Sportskeeda WrestleBinge and shared a story from Dhesi’s wedding. An elderly man pulled Shanky aside and asked him how he was allowing Drew McIntyre to roam freely after seeing McIntyre hit Shanky with a chair on WWE TV.

He stated that he had to explain to him that it was a storyline. Things were later cleared up, and McIntyre was amused by it.

“Even Drew (McIntyre) was dancing. Suddenly, this elderly man comes and takes me to the side. He asked me why I was dancing when Drew hit me with steel chairs? I explained it’s part of a storyline. He asked me not to dance. He was a typical Punjabi. So I liked it too. He was from Jinder’s family. They all watch wrestling. I really liked this incident. So, later on, Drew thought this man was angry. I explained the situation and he laughed so hard. He went and apologized and said, ‘Sorry, it wasn’t my fault.’ That was great for me. I really enjoyed Jinder’s wedding.”

A new wrestling promotion is launching in India, titled Global Wrestling League. The broadcast launch date is October 4th.

Shanky and WWE Hall of Famer The Great Khali are among those involved. Shanky is hoping that the promotion can compete with WWE one day.

“Because the more you watch, the bigger we will become. A small company like ours will compete with WWE someday. We will clash with Raw and SmackDown someday.”

Shanky’s last match in WWE was at the 2023 Superstar Spectacle house show in India. He challenged GUNTHER for the Intercontinental Championship.
