Elayna Black Says She Was Initially Hesitant To Join TNA Because Of Their Partnership With WWE

Elayna Black opens up the WWE-TNA partnership.

For four years of her pro wrestling career, Elayna Black, f.k.a. Cora Jade, was signed to WWE. That run came to an end in May 2025 when she was let go from the company.

Present day, Black is signed to TNA Wrestling. TNA has an ongoing partnership with WWE, and initially, that made Black hesitant to join TNA. She spoke about that on Busted Open.

“I think obviously there’s always a little bit of that but right now — I think maybe more so in the beginning, I was hesitant to come to TNA just because of how close the relationship was. I kind of felt like I needed to distance myself, which I think it was good, me taking that time off. I feel very more far removed than I did at the time so, I mean, yeah, that’s obviously always in the back of, I think, anybody’s head who kind of gets let go and it’s like, okay, look what I’m gonna do without you. But that’s also not really my focus right now. My focus is just having fun and loving wrestling again and hey, if with that comes them being like, damn, we messed up. We should have kept her, then, hey, so it be but, that’s not what I’m looking to accomplish I guess.”

Black arrived at TNA as a contracted talent at the Thursday Night iMPACT on AMC premiere. She is scheduled to be in action on the 1/29 episode of the show.
