Eddie Kingston Says There’s ‘Business Stuff’ He Needs To Get Done Before He Can Return To The Ring For AEW

An update on Eddie Kingston’s recovery.

On the recovery side, Kingston is feeling good.

It has been over a year since Eddie Kingston underwent surgery for tears to his ACL and meniscus. He’s been providing updates on his recovery through media appearances and via training vlogs with Cezar Bononi.

In their latest training video, Kingston shared that there are business matters he has to take care of before he can think about getting back into the ring for AEW. On the physical recovery side, Kingston is feeling good, and he’s been running in the ring.

“Good. It feels fine… They’re trying to rush me back in the ring — training — which is fine. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I’ve been running and stuff like that in the ring. It’s fine. It’s just that it’s business stuff, that I need to get done before I even think about doing anything in the ring for the company, you know what I mean? It’s a lot of business stuff.”

Kingston’s injury occurred at NJPW Resurgence in May 2024. Gabe Kidd gave him a suplex to the outside of the ring, and the back of Kingston’s legs hit the guardrail before his body went through a table that was set up.
