EC3: My Time In NWA Ran Its Course, I Didn’t Trust Telling My Story There

On January 1st, EC3 announced his departure from the National Wrestling Alliance.
EC3 had been part of NWA since 2022 when he debuted at NWA 74. He would go on to win the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship in August 2023, holding it for 370 days.
Speaking to TMZ Inside The Ring, EC3 was asked about his NWA departure.
“For NWA, my time kind of ran its course. Grateful for it, proud of what I did, proud of the guys I was able to bring in. I operate best in environments where I see the standards in how I want the product to be portrayed and I’m a big culture guy. I don’t think I can do anything to add to that culture anymore. Definitely had a good run. I was the champion for over a year. 80 title defenses. I was able to defend the championship in my hometown against one of my favorite opponents in Thom Latimer. I retired Tyrus. You’re welcome for that.
“I’m a big standards guy, a big culture guy. I’ve done what I could there. I’m also at a point where I have a couple years left where I’m going to be at a super high level and I didn’t trust telling my story there.”
His last NWA match was taped in September 2025.
EC3 dropped a teaser video hinting at the top 1% returning to TNA Wrestling.
