Earthquake’s Daughter Joanna Gives Update On Her Training To Be A Pro Wrestler

John Tenta, better known to some wrestling fans as Earthquake in WWE, was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2025 as part of the Natural Disasters with Typhoon (Fred Ottman).

Tenta passed away on June 7, 2006, leaving behind hisdaughter Joanna, who went on to become a cancer chaplain.

In May, Joanna revealed she has been training to become a wrestler.

In a new feature from Susan Moses & Monica Robins of WKYC, Joanna gave an update on how her training is going.

“There are some times that I do… if I’m stepping into the ring… running the ropes… sometimes there are flickers of that… I’m trying to learn some of my dad’s moves. I feel like since I’ve started training, it has rounded me out. I feel like I’m healing parts of that 17-year-old after my dad died,” she said. “It’s still the same Joanna. When I’m at the hospital, my whole role is caring for others and so there’s a level of sensitivity and care and attention that I have to provide. Here, I kind of let loose here. I get to be myself.”

Joanna is training with Dominic Garrini at AIW.

Garrini said, “It is absolutely insane how far she’s come. She came here very timid, very scared and now she’s invited into the intermediate class.”

Joanna and her family were part of Tenta’s WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony during WrestleMania weekend.
