Dominik Mysterio Says Custody Battle Angle Around Him Was Eddie Guerrero’s Idea

Dominik Mysterio talks about Eddie Guerrero in a new video, sharing about how Eddie took care of him during the angle.

In 2005, an iconic angle would take place in the lead up to SummerSlam that year, as Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio were in the midst of a feud together, with Eddie revealing in the angle that he was Dominik Mysterio’s biological father. The angle would culminate at SummerSlam in a ladder match for his custody.

While speaking in a new video on WWE’s YouTube channel, Dominik Mysterio discussed the angle.

“He did so much for our family because it was his idea to do the whole custody battle.”

Dominik continued, highlighting that Eddie took care of him int he midst of an angle that blurred the lines for a young child like him.

“He was just always making sure that I was okay, getting taken care of, always very kind, helpful, just a bright light.”

During the match, Dominik would get involved, trying to prevent Eddie from winning the match, something that terrified the young Mysterio at the time.

“I look up and there’s Eddie standing over me, just waving his finger. Fear is the only thing in my mind, and just because of his intensity, man. Now seeing it as a wrestler and being a performer in it, I’m like, man, he was so good.”
