Doc Gallows Thinks WWE-AAA Acquisition Is TKO’s Response To Triple H Wanting NXT On Every Continent

Doc Gallows discusses WWE’s recent acquisition of AAA.

Back in April, Triple H shocked the world by announcing WWE’s acquisition of AAA. Now, just a few months later, the move has been widely praised around the industry, as it has highlighted new names for American audiences like El Hijo del Vikingo and Mr. Iguana.

Speaking with PWMania for a new interview, Doc Gallows gave his take on the purchase, saying that it’s TKO business-smart version of Triple H’s original vision to have NXT on every continent.

“You know, is the WWE controlling every continent a positive? I don’t know, I think as long as there’s companies that work outside of that realm, yes. Obviously the fans are enjoying it, they enjoyed TripleMania and the interaction with Pro Wrestling NOAH, if that’s going to go any further. I remember Hunter telling Carl and I in like 2016 when we were coming in that basically he wanted NXT on every continent. I think TKO came in and with their sharp business skills said, ‘What if we just own the majority percentage in a good company on each continent and then we can control it.’ Not a bad business strategy if you study business at all, probably a lot cheaper. Then, you can cherry pick all the top stars and do with them what you please and let the rest of it run the way that it runs.”

Dominik Mysterio will look to win AAA gold at the upcoming WWE x AEW Worlds Collide event, as he’ll challenge El Hijo del Vikingo for the AAA Mega Championship.

Elsewhere in the interview, Gallows spoke on Vince McMahon’s brief return to WWE in 2023. Check out his full comments by clicking here.
