DEFY Wrestling Founder Jim Perry Rejoining Promotion
The founder of the promotion is returning.
DEFY Wrestling pushed out a press release to announce that promotion founder Jim Perry is rejoining DEFY. It is noted that alongside DEFY co-founder Matt Farmer, they’ll be leading the charge into a new era.

DEFY WRESTLING FOUNDER JIM PERRY RETURNS TO REJOIN MATT FARMER IN LEADING THE CHARGE INTO A NEW ERA
SEATTLE, WA – August 11th, 2025 – DEFY Wrestling is proud to announce the return of its founder, Jim Perry, who reunites with longtime collaborator Matt Farmer to usher in the next era of the independent wrestling innovator.
Perry, whose creative vision helped launch DEFY as a movement in the Pacific Northwest and beyond, returns after almost two years away working in podcasting, television, and immersive storytelling. Now, alongside Farmer, who has continued to anchor DEFY, the two original architects are once again aligned, bringing a shared vision to evolve and expand the brand without losing its soul.
“DEFY has always been about more than just wrestling. It’s about energy, it’s about emotion, it’s about community, and creating the next generation of the sport” said Perry. “Farmer and I built this together. Reuniting with him to take DEFY even further is not just exciting, it feels inevitable.”
Farmer added: “Jim brings an energy that helped define DEFY from the beginning. We’re fired up to push the envelope again and take things to new heights creatively and collaboratively.”
Together, Perry and Farmer plan to expand DEFY’s presence through innovative storytelling, dynamic events, and new creative alliances, while staying true to the raw, underground spirit that made DEFY a destination for both rising talent and established stars.
