David Finlay Has Interest From WWE As His NJPW Contract Expires Soon

A note about the potential for Finlay’s future.

David Finlay has been a part of New Japan Pro-Wrestling since 2015. To start 2026, he competed at Wrestle Kingdom 20 and New Year Dash.

There was an update on Finlay provided by WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, and it was noted on the show that Finlay’s contract with NJPW is expiring soon, and he has interest from WWE.

New Japan’s Road to The New Beginning tour is set to begin on January 19th, and Finlay is not currently advertised for the tour, which wraps up on February 11th.

At New Year Dash, Finlay locked eyes with AEW’s Will Ospreay at ringside before Gedo pulled Finlay away.
