Daisuke Sekimoto Joins AJPW Royal Road Tournament Field

Sekimoto was revealed as the mystery participant.

At All Japan Pro-Wrestling’s August 3rd event, Daisuke Sekimoto was in action. In his backstage comments, he revealed that he is the mystery participant in the 2025 Royal Road tournament.

When the initial brackets were released, a surprise opponent was listed for Rei Saito on August 24th. Prior to the 8/3 show in Tokyo, Sekimoto had last wrestled for AJPW in January.

Here is the updated Royal Road tournament field:

August 24th at Korakuen Hall

• Yuma Aoyagi vs. Naoya Nomura
• Kento Miyahara vs. Kengo Mashimo
• Rei Saito vs. Daisuke Sekimoto

August 30th at Kunibiki Messe

• Shotaro Ashino vs. Davey Boy Smith Jr.
• Hideki Suzuki vs. Odyssey Jones

August 31st at Kobe Sambo Hall

• Jun Saito vs. Ren Ayabe
• Ryuki Honda vs. Kuma Arashi
• Hokuto Omori vs. XYON (f.k.a. Xyon Quinn)

Sekimoto returned to in-ring action in July. He had been sidelined since May after suffering an injury at a Big Japan show.
