D-Von Dudley: If I Do One More Match, It’d Have To Be With The Hardys

D-Von Dudley discusses the possibility of competing in one more match, stating it would be just one more match and that it would have to be with Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy.

While Bully Ray (Bubba Ray Dudley) did tentatively agree to one more tag team match between Team 3D and The Hardys at TNA Bound For Glory 2025, D-Von Dudley was not present for that interaction at TNA Slammiversary 2025.

However, he is commenting on the possibility of competing in one more match. During an interview with Chris Van Vliet, D-Von was asked about the possibility of a final match. Candidly, D-Von said that one match may be all his body has left.

“I would say, if I was to do one, it would be one. I would say one more,” was his response.

D-Von was also asked about the possibility of that match being in WWE. Both he and Bubba Ray Dudley are under Legends contracts with WWE. Dudley shot down the idea of his final match taking place in WWE, however, as he feels he would never be medically cleared. He has openly talked in the past about suffering a stroke. Still, he has a great deal of affection for his time in WWE.

“I don’t think the powers that be would let that happen. Because the way WWE is now, they go through so much to get somebody to a point where you have to prove that you’re healthy. I mean, there’s guys that have a cracked rib, and they gotta go through hell and back to try to get the okay to be able to come back. Would it be WWE? I would do it definitely for WWE. WWE is my home. It always has been, just like ECW, those two companies have been my life. No other company would come before that.”

As for who he would like to match to be against, he says it would have to be either Matt and Jeff Hardy or Adam Copeland and Christian Cage. Of course, The Dudley Boyz, Edge & Christian, and The Hardy Boyz made history in the 2000s with their TLC Matches. However, because Copeland and Christian work for AEW, D-Von says his final match would have to take place against The Hardys. He also questioned why Tony Khan, AEW owner, never took the chance to put those three tag teams in the ring together.

“If I was to do anything in the ring again, it would have to be with Matt and Jeff. I would say Edge and Christian, too, but they’re in the other organization, AEW, and I don’t think that would ever happen. When the opportunity came, when Edge left WWE and went to AEW you had Christian and Edge there, and then the Hardys were there, and it was like we were wondering why Tony, who is a huge fan of the business and always has been, why wouldn’t he take the opportunity to be the one to put those three teams together and to do that? But he never did.

“So I think that opportunity is lost. But you know, if I was to come back and do something, it would have to be with the Hardys, and those are the only two I trust, even though I think Jeff is out of his damn mind. But those are the only two I would trust for my body on the line, and go in there one more time.”

It does appear we will see D-Von Dudley in the ring one more time at TNA Bound For Glory as The Hardys and Team 3D renew hostilities one final time, a quarter of a century after their rivalry began. This time, however, there is a great deal of shared respect between the four legends. TNA Bound For Glory 2025 is scheduled to take place in Lowell, Massachusetts. Learn more about that here.
