Corey Graves reflects on his segment with Brock Lesnar last year where he was hit with multiple F5s.

On the September 19th edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown, Graves was assaulted by Brock Lesnar, who hit him with multiple F5s in the midst of a rampage. This attack would write Graves off television so he could take paternity leave.

While speaking to Steel City Sunday in a new interview, Corey Graves reflected on the attack, noting that he actually pitched the idea.

“It came about last minute, the day of the show. Brock was supposed to destroy our announce table, and I actually said to Triple H, I said, you know, I’m allowed to be off for a couple weeks for the baby. What if he just… just killed me too and they batted it back and forth for a few minutes. ‘Yeah, OK, let’s do that.’ Being in the ring with Brock was how I imagine you would feel if you fell into a tiger enclosure at the zoo. Like, I have never felt power like that in the blink of an eye. I know what’s coming, but I don’t know. It was so fast. I’m looking at him, and the next thing I know, I’m about 10 feet in the air looking down at the canvas, you know, in midair.”

Elsewhere in the same interview, Graves spoke about El Grande Americano. You can read more about that here.
