Colten Gunn Injured, Gunns Unable To Compete In AEW Tag Team Title Eliminator Tournament

Due to an injury to Colten Gunn, The Gunns (Colten & Austin Gunn) will be unable to compete in the AEW Tag Team Title eliminator tournament that began on Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite.

Fightful Select reported, “Colten Gunn was originally planned for the tag team title eliminator tournament. AEW wanted to give it time to see if he could make the tourney, but it’s looking unlikely. AEW will be making internal changes accordingly.”

On AEW Dynamite, announcer Excalibur confirmed that Colten was sidelined with an injury and the Gunns would be unable to participate in the tournament.

Colten suffered the injury on the July 19th (taped on July 17th) episode of AEW Collision. Colten was teaming with his brother Austin against Gates Of Agony (Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona), Big Bill & Bryan Keith and CRU (Action Andretti & Lio Rush).

Colten clutched his knee after landing on his feet following a lifting punch by Big Bill. He was helped to the back during the bout.

AEW Collision was the Gunns first match since February.

The winner of AEW Tag Team Title Eliminator tournament will receive a shot at the AEW Tag Team Titles at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door. FTR advanced in the tournament on AEW Dynamite.

Fightful wishes Colten the best in his recovery.
