Cody Rhodes Says Filming ‘Naked Gun’ Was An Easy Day, ‘Liam Neeson Is Qui-Gon Jinn For Me’

Cody Rhodes talks ‘The Naked Gun’.

The Liam Neeson-led reboot hit theaters on Friday, August 1. Along with Paul Walter Hauser in a supporting role, Cody Rhodes appeared as a bartender in one the film’s many brief cameos.

Speaking with Jimmy Traina of Sports Illustrated for a new interview, Cody Rhodes detailed how he got the role and how easy the scene was.

“For me, it was such an easy day. ‘Hey, you have an off day. Do you want to do this cameo role in Naked Gun with Liam Neeson?’ Liam Neeson is a lot of things to a lot of people in terms of the unbelievable body of work he’s put up. For me, it’s Qui-Gon Jinn. It’s the Jedi knight, and very important Jedi knight. This is the guy from Schindler’s List. He’s done so much, but he’s Qui-Gon Jinn to me and the idea that I could hang out with him for an afternoon and to do the scene I did and be in the film and the film be received so well. I’m really honored. I was excited about it. It was very cool, and it was an easy one for me with my schedule to be able to do. Some of the new stuff on the table, some stuff we can’t talk about, some stuff that’s kind of leaked and out there in the world, that’s a little bit more aggressive.”

As of publish time, ‘The Naked Gun’ is still playing in over 3,000 theaters in the United States. Go support a great comedy movie in theaters.

Elsewhere in the interview, Rhodes talked about possibly facing off with Roman Reigns for a third time. Check out his full statement on the potential match by clicking here.
